In the last issue of the Chronicle, I wrote about how I got a unicycle and how it is very hard to ride. I'm happy to say that I can now ride it with ease and it is very fun.
I thought it would take a lot longer to learn how to ride it. As I said last time, at first I assumed it would be really easy for me, but the videos I saw on the Internet made it sound like it would take months to master. Well, here I am, Day 26, and I am able to ride fairly long distances without stopping.
The...

Recently, I got a unicycle. It sounds kind of crazy, but I always have secretly wanted one. I ordered one of the one-wheel-bicycles from the Internet, and when it finally arrived, I was delighted. After about half an hour of "easy" assembling, the bike was ready for riding.
The only thing is, I didn't realize how much effort I'd have to use to learn how to ride.
Unicycles are way different from bicycles. There's only one wheel, which makes it hard to balance, and there aren't any...

This past Christmas I was hoping to get Microsoft Office 2007 for my computer. I've used it on my parents' computer, but the disc they used to install it on isn't available to install on my computer. Unfortunately, a brand new disc wasn't under my tree this Christmas, but as I found out later, that was actually a good thing.
I realized that I would have to save up my money if I wanted Microsoft 2007, and I also knew that by the time I get the money, the next version might already be...

In all my years of school, I have noticed that teachers use certain things to help boost morale in students. They use clever ways that really work and make kids really enjoy the teacher.

The most common thing that I see teachers doing is giving kids a study guide or review that has all the content that’s going to be on an upcoming test. Why is this such an effective way of getting those students on their side? Well, think about it. If you walk into a classroom, knowing you have a...

Everyone who has an e-mail account knows about spam mails. They're sent from people who want to put viruses on your computer, or do something else bad. Recently, I got a spam message that was so strange I am still wondering what it's all about.
It was all in Russian. I copied it into Google Translate, and it interpreted it for me. It talked about a farmer with an axe. Then it said that it has "all the data from other people's phones." Next it gave me a link to a Canadian pharmacy Web...

Just recently, the fair was in town. It attracted lots of people, including me. For some reason, my family has never gotten around to going there, so this year was a first.
There was a huge Ferris wheel in the back, so that’s what we went on first. It went so high that you could see for miles – and there was an excellent view of downtown. While we were up there, we looked out at the area to see what other rides we wanted to go on.
One ride we saw was the roller coaster. It wasn’t like...

Earlier this month, I went on a field trip to Epcot with a group of sixth- and seventh-graders from my school.
On that Friday morning, we had to get to school at 5:30 a.m., and embarked for Disney World not much later.
My dad was a chaperone and there were five kids in our group, including me. We got to walk around the park and do whatever we wanted. At first, we were going to ride the Mission Space ride, but we decided to eat lunch first since everyone was hungry. If you didn't know,...

Just recently I was trying to download a song from the Internet. It was a pretty well known song that I wanted, but it was really hard to find a site where you could download it. Sure, there’s always iTunes, but you have to have an Apple account to use it, and nobody in my family has that.
Every place we looked at for a download of this song either wanted you to sign up for their site or they had the wrong version to download. After searching the net for probably a couple hours, my dad...

I have read many books in my short life, and there are a few that stand out in my mind. What I look for in a good book is lots of adventure (but not too much), suspense (and definitely not too little), action (this one isn't an absolute necessity but makes the story better), and a few other things.
The top three books that I have read are:

A Wrinkle in Time was written in the '60s by Madeleine L'Engle. It's an excellent book for people who like the science fiction-fantasy genre....

To me, summer doesn't just mean warm weather and no school, it also means that there is a great opportunity to have yummy sweets that we don't normally get to have in the winter. I'm talking about things like key lime pie, ice cream, and other cold foods.
There are some things like ice cream which some people have year-round, but they always taste better in warm weather. I guess it's just that cold sensation that feels so good when you put it in your mouth in a warm atmosphere.
My favorite...
